Matthias Kamber Joins Growing San Francisco IP Team 

Munger, Tolles & Olson is pleased to announce that intellectual property litigator and trial lawyer Matthias Kamber has joined the firm as a partner in San Francisco.  

Matthias brings nearly 25 years of experience advising clients in high-stakes intellectual property disputes throughout the country, with a particular focus on patent cases involving internet advertising, smartphones and microprocessors. During that time, he has tried over a dozen jury and bench trials and has represented some of the world’s largest technology companies on their most complex IP matters. Although Matthias’s focus is district court litigation, he has also argued appeals at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and handled investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission. 

In addition to patent litigation, Matthias advises on trade secret, copyright and trademark matters, and has also represented clients in commercial, employment and antitrust disputes. His addition to the firm’s San Francisco office follows that of veteran IP litigator Andrew Radsch in November 2025.

Matthias currently serves as President-Elect of the Federal Circuit Bar Association, where he previously co-chaired the Amicus Committee and Veterans Pro Bono Committee. He also served on the Advisory Council of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit from 2015 to 2021.

Matthias earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Cornell University.
