Munger, Tolles & Olson Partner Craig Jennings Lavoie Named to Daily Journal’s 2023 Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers List
Congratulations to Munger, Tolles & Olson partner Craig Jennings Lavoie for being named to the Daily Journal’s 2023 Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers list, which recognizes the very best young lawyers in California.
A trusted advisor for clients on their most important matters, Mr. Lavoie was recognized for his leading roles in high-stakes litigation across a number of industries.
Mr. Lavoie was recognized for his major role in Vanessa Bryant’s landmark civil rights lawsuit related to first responders’ inappropriate sharing of photos from the scene of the helicopter crash that tragically killed Kobe and Gianna Bryant. In a two-week jury trial in August 2022, Jennings Lavoie examined nine witnesses and delivered the closing argument—which generated coverage by the New York Times, CNN, Bloomberg, People, Rolling Stone and the Los Angeles Times, among many others—after which MTO and co-counsel Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati secured a $15 million jury verdict on behalf of Mrs. Bryant. MTO and co-counsel were awarded a 2022 Daily Journal Top Verdict and a 2023 CLAY award for their work on the case.
Craig also played a leading role in the successful defense of litigation against the LA Clippers related to their construction of a new, state of the art basketball arena in Inglewood, California, which is set to open as the team’s new home in 2024.
