Sarah J. Cole is Of Counsel in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson.
Her practice focuses on regulatory matters and complex civil litigation. She has represented both defendants and plaintiffs in complex business, intellectual property, class action and mass tort litigation matters.
Since 2008, Ms. Cole has represented large investor-owned utilities in regulatory proceedings seeking approval of significant utility transactions and in civil litigation arising out of wildfires and related regulatory proceedings. She has litigated key wildfire issues in trial courts and appellate courts, including inverse condemnation, class certification and damages issues, and successfully resolved cross-complaints against third parties for indemnity and defense.
Key representations include San Diego Gas & Electric in litigation and regulatory proceedings arising out of the 2007 San Diego wildfires and Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) in Butte Fire and Tubbs Fire litigation and regulatory proceedings reviewing PG&E’s plan of reorganization and securitization and other financing applications.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Cole was Of Counsel at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP.
