“We are delighted to welcome Nicole, April, Jeremy, Max and Dane as our newest partners,” said Firm Chair Brad Brian. “Their well-earned promotions recognize their outstanding work and unwavering dedication to our clients and the firm. We look forward to all they will accomplish in the years ahead.”

Nicole Howell is a corporate lawyer focused on mergers and acquisitions. Nicole regularly advises public and private companies, financial sponsors and other stakeholders on complex domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions and the formation of joint ventures and strategic partnerships. She also advises clients on corporate governance and securities law matters, as well as general corporate matters and complex commercial transactions. “Joining Munger Tolles was an easy decision for me. From the people to the work, the firm’s commitment to excellence is unmistakable,” said Nicole. “It’s an exciting time for MTO’s corporate practice, and I’m thrilled to join the partnership.”

April Hu practices commercial litigation with a focus on antitrust and appeals. She represents companies in trials, appeals, government antitrust inquiries and high-stakes internal investigations. Her litigation experience includes serving on an appellate team defending the first-ever award of divestiture to a private party as well as serving on a trial team that obtained a complete defense verdict in an unfair competition suit brought by a competitor. “After clerking, I joined Munger Tolles because the firm embodies the best of our profession – brilliant, thoughtful lawyering paired with a deep commitment to our clients, to each other and to the rule of law,” said April. “It is a tremendous honor and privilege to join the firm’s partnership.”

Jeremy Kreisberg is a litigator with significant experience advising officials in the federal government. He focuses his practice on appeals and complex litigation and has represented commercial and government entities in high-profile litigation before trial courts and appeals courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Jeremy has also represented trade associations, communications companies and law firms in high-stakes litigation matters. “This firm is a special place; it has an unmatched culture of collegiality and kindness, it brings out the best in all of its attorneys, and it provides the highest level of legal services to its clients with an unyielding commitment to doing what is right,” said Jeremy. “I am extremely grateful to join this partnership that I admire so much.”

Max Rosen’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, including mass tort litigation, strategic advising, insurance and appeals. He has extensive experience in resolving complex high-stakes commercial litigation and appeals, including representing multiple utilities in cases arising out of wildfires. He was one of the lead members of the team that represented Hawaiian Electric in securing a historic global settlement resolving litigation related to the devastating 2023 Maui wildfires. He also maintains a significant pro bono practice, focused on LGBTQ+ rights. “Munger Tolles is a firm not only with unrivaled excellence, but also one where lawyers are ethical, compassionate and always intellectually curious. It is a place where your peers push you to be better – as a person and a lawyer. I am thrilled to be joining this partnership and to work to maintain these values for years to come.”

Dane Shikman is a trial lawyer and litigator who focuses on high-stakes disputes across numerous areas, including antitrust, trade secret, trademark and employment law. He has argued and won results for clients in state and federal courts, including in the California Supreme Court. His successes have been named “Top Verdict” of the year by the Daily Journal. Dane also maintains an active pro bono practice, handling both high-impact litigations and individual representation matters. “Joining the MTO partnership means I get to double down on the work I love – fighting for clients and solving their problems – alongside lawyers who are at the top of the game and who practice law with integrity and compassion for each other,” said Dane. “I couldn’t be more excited and grateful for this next chapter.”
