Hailyn Chen Recognized as a Distinguished Leader Honoree in The Recorder’s 2025 California Legal Awards
Munger, Tolles & Olson Co-Managing Partner Hailyn Chen has been recognized as a Distinguished Leader honoree in The Recorder’s 2025 California Legal Awards. In a Q&A with the publication, Hailyn discussed her proudest achievements, leadership approach and advice for lawyers and legal professionals in the industry’s changing landscape.
Hailyn’s leadership approach is defined by authenticity and empathy, aiming to inspire and motivate others while staying true to core values. She shared, “As an Asian woman in leadership, I recognize the importance of visibility, and I openly share my experiences to break barriers. By leading with vulnerability and conviction, I aim to create a more inclusive and connected legal community.” She also believes relationships are fundamental in the evolving legal industry and emphasizes fostering connections. She notes that “collaboration, mentorship and well-being support help lawyers sustain fulfilling, long-term careers in this demanding profession while allowing law firm growth and relevance for decades.”
