On-Site Child Care: Munger, Tolles & Olson is particularly proud of our on-site child care center in Los Angeles and the backup care options available to all firm employees. In 2010, the firm opened Hope Street Friends, a 12,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, on-site child care and early education center in downtown Los Angeles. The facility, built jointly with two other professional services firms, was the first law firm-sponsored child care center on the West Coast. Children from 6 weeks to 6 years are eligible to enroll, and the cost is subsidized by the firm.

Each year since its inception, it has been recognized as “Best Downtown Daycare” by the Los Angeles Downtown News. The center is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., hours that many Munger Tolles professionals have found more than adequate to allow for schedule flexibility and ensure that their children are well cared-for.

Subsidized Back-Up Care: Munger Tolles also provides a subsidized back-up care program through Bright Horizons, which can be used up to 20 times per year, per child or relative needing care. This includes center-based and in-home care nationwide. Munger Tolles employees may sign up to use any number of Bright Horizons child care centers across the country. Subsidized in-home care is also available nationwide for children, adult relatives and the elderly. Our professionals regularly use both the center and in-home options while traveling for work in cities across the country.

Parental Leave Benefits: Munger Tolles’ parental leave benefits are market-leading. All new parents may take up to 18 weeks of parental leave within the first year following the birth or adoption of a child, and an additional 6-8 weeks for pregnancy disability.

Support for Nursing Mothers: Munger Tolles offers nursing mothers benefits to make work easier, including Milk Stork for work travel, door locks and in-office refrigerators.
