Munger, Tolles & Olson partner Carolyn Hoecker Luedtke was recognized by the Daily Journal as a 2023 Top Trade Secrets Lawyer for her experience as a top litigator and for her leadership both inside and outside the courtroom.
This is the fifth consecutive year Ms. Luedtke has been named among the top trade secrets lawyers in California – she has been on the list every year since the award’s inception in 2019.
The Daily Journal recognized Ms. Luedtke as the go-to counselor for high-profile cases on trade secret matters involving employee mobility, information sharing disputes and allegations of corporate theft. Her representation for these clients included leading the defense of a current Applied Materials executive which sought to oppose a TRO and enforcement of a non-competition agreement from a previous employer; First Student, the nation’s largest school bus company, in litigation concerning claims brought by First Student that a former employee stole trade secrets and took them to a competitor; and Snap in continuing litigation that centers on allegations of misappropriated trade secrets in acquired company Zenly’s mapping application.
In addition to these matters, Ms. Luedtke’s practice also includes leading high-stakes confidential pre-litigation and investigation matters on behalf of clients involving trade secret allegations and disputes, ranging from commercial disputes over acquisitions where trade secret issues are in play, to joint ventures that broke apart and required allocation of trade secret rights, to the hiring of C-suite executives from competitors.
