Ruby Garrett, Sara McDermott and Wesley “Wes” Burrell Selected for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Programs
Munger, Tolles & Olson announced the selection of Ruby Garrett and Sara McDermott as members of the 2022 class of Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD)’s Pathfinders, a program designed by LCLD to train high-performing, early-career attorneys in critical career development strategies, including leadership and the building of professional networks. At the same time, Wesley “Wes” Burrell, who was a 2017 LCLD Pathfinder, was selected for the 2022 LCLD Fellows Program, which is designed for diverse, high-potential, mid-career attorneys, because of his demonstrated leadership skills, impact in the organization, engagement within the community and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
“Ruby, Sara and Wes have earned this recognition and our team is very proud of them,” said Karen Lorang, Co-Chair of the firm’s Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee. “Their talents will be an asset to any organization and these LCLD programs will help to cultivate their aptitudes as they progress further into leadership roles in the legal profession.”
“Our Members have developed a wide range of action programs, which are responsible for advancing diverse legal talent towards the ranks of leadership by giving them the tools to succeed,” LCLD President Robert Grey, said in a letter on the organization’s website.
“We want to foster open and free access to opportunity for all individuals, regardless of color, gender, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or disability. We want to see the legal community fielding teams that are made up of the best talent,” said Mr. Grey.
