MTO Fellows Program Awarded Diversity Impact Award at 2021 LACBA Installation & Awards Celebration
The MTO Fellows Program was awarded the Diversity Impact Award at the 2021 LACBA Installation & Awards Celebration on June 21, 2021 featuring a keynote address by Senator Alex Padilla.
The Diversity Impact Award (renamed the Philip H. Lam Diversity Impact Award) recognizes an individual, bench officer, government legal office, public-interest law organization, law firm, corporation, or other legal service organization for his/her/its long and distinguished history of increasing inclusion and diversity in the practice of law.
The MTO Fellows Program helps students from diverse backgrounds address the barriers they face in applying for and succeeding in law school. Since 2015, Munger Tolles has prepared more than 100 students for law school. The program seeks individuals who show the potential to contribute meaningfully to the diversity of the legal profession, including, but not limited to, candidates who are members of racial or ethnic minority groups; are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender; are persons with disabilities; or are from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds.
