Hailyn Chen Speaks With Munger Tolles Alum Ailsa Chang at Firmwide Women+ Initiative – Speakers Series Luncheon
Munger, Tolles & Olson Co-Chair Hailyn Chen led a conversation with Ailsa Chang, host of NPR’s All Things Considered during the Women+ Initiative – Speakers Series all-firm lunch on July 8, 2021.
Ms. Chang highlighted several topics, including her career path from Stanford Law to Munger, Tolles & Olson and then on to radio journalism. She also discussed how her training as a lawyer affects her work as a journalist and what she’s had to learn and unlearn, and what challenges she’s faced as one of the few Asian American journalists with a national presence.

Ailsa Chang is an award-winning journalist who hosts NPR’s All Things Considered from her new home base in Los Angeles, along with Ari Shapiro, Audie Cornish, and Mary Louise Kelly. Ms. Chang is a former Planet Money correspondent, and before that, was a congressional correspondent with NPR’s Washington Desk.
Hailyn Chen is a Munger, Tolles & Olson litigation partner and co-managing partner of the firm. She focuses her practice on complex business litigation, white collar criminal defense and government investigations.
