Munger, Tolles & Olson Increases Its Commitment to Racial Justice

On June 26, Munger, Tolles & Olson joined forces with over 125 other law firms in the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance – a new coalition with the goal of promoting racial equality.

The Law Firm Antiracism Alliance will leverage the resources of the private bar and partner other with legal services organizations to amplify the voices of underrepresented communities and individuals oppressed by systemic racism in the name of advancing civil rights.

This collaboration comes on the heels of several other initiatives Munger Tolles has kicked off to redouble its efforts toward advancing access to justice, increasing inclusion and diversity in the profession and fighting racism. Internally, the firm has assembled a Combatting Systematic Racism Task Force to work in tandem with the existing Diversity Committee to develop informed strategies and solutions that address issues of systematic racism against African Americans that exist in the firm’s community and the legal profession.

Reflective of its egalitarian working environment, Munger Tolles engaged the entire firm to identify organizations that are combatting racial injustice and advancing civil rights in our country. After receiving a number of suggestions, the MTO Foundation, funded by partner contributions, contributed over $300,000 to organizations seeking change at every level through impact litigation and policy work, organizing community members and providing direct services. Please find a complete list of recipients below.

Munger, Tolles & Olson will continue to take concrete actions toward its commitment to its firm wide core values: advancing access to justice, seeking greater inclusion and diversity in the legal profession and supporting the communities in which the firm practices.
