Kuruvilla J. Olasa

Kuruvilla Olasa is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson.

His litigation practice encompasses a wide array of high-stakes matters, with a particular focus on complex antitrust litigation. Mr. Olasa also counsels clients in the technology and entertainment industries on antitrust issues, including with respect to mergers and acquisitions.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Olasa served as a law clerk to Judge Sandra Ikuta of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and to Judge A. Howard Matz of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Mr. Olasa received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as an articles editor for the California Law Review as well as the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. He received his B.S. in computer science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Olasa worked as a software engineer.

  • A major record company in successfully resolving antitrust claims asserted by a bankrupt streaming music service.
  • The Norton Simon Museum in obtaining summary judgment in a dispute involving the ownership of two paintings in the museum’s collection. The victory was named among the Daily Journal’s Top Verdicts of 2016 and earned the defense team a Daily Journal 2017 California Lawyer Attorney of the Year (CLAY) Award.
