Jimmy P. Biblarz, Ph.D.

Jimmy Biblarz is a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson.

Prior to joining the firm, he was the legislative director for LA City Councilmember Mike Bonin. From 2020-2022, he was a candidate for Los Angeles City Council District 5 and a lecturer at UCLA Law School.

Mr. Biblarz received his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2021. There, he was executive managing editor of the Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review and worked with Civil Rights Corps, Protect Democracy and the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office.

He received his Ph.D. in sociology & social policy from Harvard in 2023. His dissertation, “Intangible Factors: Social Capital, Social Networks, and America’s Second Reconstruction,” used computational text methods to track linguistic change in equal protection law, particularly desegregation cases. His research was funded by the National Science Foundation and the Stone Inequality Fellowship. While in graduate school, he was the resident LGBTQ+ tutor at Eliot House, one of Harvard’s twelve residential colleges.

Before attending graduate school, he worked for David Gergen at CNN. He graduated from Harvard in 2014 with an A.B. in social studies, magna cum laude.
