Erica C. Tooch

Erica Tooch is a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson.

Ms. Tooch’s practice focuses primarily on labor and employment litigation and counseling. She has litigated numerous class and representative wage and hour matters as well as a variety of single-plaintiff wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation and harassment claims. She has written successful motions and managed all aspects of discovery.
 
In addition to her litigation work, Ms. Tooch frequently conducts internal investigations and counsels clients on all aspects of employment law, including compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, drafting employee handbooks, and drafting and implementing company policies.  She has experience defending employers in numerous industries, including technology, manufacturing, non-profit and financial sectors.
    
Ms. Tooch also maintains a vibrant pro bono practice, advising non-profit organizations on workplace policies and unemployment disputes. 

Additionally, Ms. Tooch is the co-chair of the firm’s Food From the Bar initiative.  Food from the Bar is an annual six-week campaign, held in the spring in which law firms and legal offices engage in a friendly competition to raise funds, donate food, and volunteer at local food banks.

Ms. Tooch was previously an associate at a leading law firm, where she conducted research and drafted memoranda on various complex substantive and procedural matters.

Ms. Tooch received her J.D. from the USC Gould School of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as the senior submissions editor for the Southern California Law Review. While at USC, Ms. Tooch externed for the Judge Paul L. Abrams of the Central District of California. 

Ms. Tooch graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University, with a B.A. in sociology and a double minor in Judaic studies and communications media studies. At Tufts, she was awarded membership in Phi Beta Kappa.
