Daniel J. Kane

Daniel Kane is a litigation associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Munger, Tolles & Olson.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Kane worked for several years in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. As an attorney in the Appellate Section, he represented the United States in cases before the U.S. Courts of Appeals, briefing more than 20 cases and arguing nine. He also drafted more than 50 briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court and advised the U.S. Solicitor General on criminal appeals.

Mr. Kane served as a law clerk for Justice Elena Kagan of the U.S. Supreme Court. He also clerked for Judge Raymond J. Lohier, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and Judge Paul A. Engelmayer of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Mr. Kane earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he served as an editor of the Stanford Law Review. He earned an M.A. from Columbia University and a B.A. with distinction from Stanford University.
