Abigail Bessler (she/her) is a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson.
Prior to rejoining the firm, Abigail was a summer associate at MTO where she focused on entertainment, copyright, contracts, and class action litigation. Abigail earned her J.D. from Yale Law School, where she was an editor for the Yale Law Journal and the Yale Law & Policy Review. During law school, she worked as a legal intern at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, served as a head teaching assistant for Professor Akhil Amar, and took part in the San Francisco Affirmative Litigation Project, the Solomon Center for Health Law & Policy, and the Yale Creative Society. She was awarded best written brief at the UCLA Williams Institute’s moot court competition on sexual orientation and gender identity law.
Earlier in her career, Abigail served as a legislative director at the New York City Council, leading policy strategy for a local councilmember and helping to pass legislation on issues ranging from criminal justice to campaign finance. Abigail has also worked at political PR and speechwriting firms. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, in political science from Yale College where she was the editor of the Yale Daily News Magazine and won a Society of Professional Journalists award for investigatory reporting. Outside of the law, Abigail performs stand-up comedy.
