Overview

Danny (Qian Zhe) Zhang is a litigation associate in the San Francisco office of Munger, Tolles & Olson who works on trial, appellate and regulatory matters for clients in the higher education, insurance, technology and public utility industries.

Previously a summer associate at MTO, Danny worked on several matters for clients in the arts and culture sector and researched First Amendment issues for a nonprofit organization. He was also a summer associate at an Am Law 200 firm in San Francisco.

Danny earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School. There, he participated in the Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, where he worked on the petition for certiorari and successful merits briefing in Chiaverini v. City of Napoleon, 602 U.S. 556 (2024), a Section 1983 malicious prosecution case. He also served as co-president of the Kirkwood Moot Court competition and academic chair for the First Generation and Low-Income Students organization.

Prior to attending law school, Danny worked at Sotheby’s, where he was an assistant vice president and specialist in impressionist and modern art.

In his free time, Danny enjoys listening to podcasts, snowboarding and whipping up delicious recipes in the kitchen.
