

Overview
Kathleen M. McDowell is an experienced litigator/former partner whose recent practice has been focused on eDiscovery and information governance, particularly in the financial services and technology industries.
Kathleen has represented a range of clients in all aspects of preservation, identification, collection, analysis, production and disposition of electronically stored information.
She has extensive experience leading all aspects of discovery and factual development in high-stakes litigation and internal investigations. She has represented directors, officers and corporations in shareholder securities and derivative litigation, lawyers and law firms in complex civil and regulatory proceedings and corporations and individuals in defense-side employment litigation. She argued and won Reynolds v. Bement, 36 Cal. 4th 1075, before the California Supreme Court. She has been profiled in the Daily Journal and Metropolitan News-Enterprise.
Kathleen’s ongoing community project has been to promote and expand the Food From the Bar campaign, an anti-hunger effort supporting Feeding America food banks across the country. She was instrumental in initiating the campaign to Los Angeles in 2009. The Los Angeles Food From the Bar is a multi-week campaign held in the spring in which law firms and legal offices engage in friendly competition to raise funds, donate food and volunteer at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Kathleen remains an active member of the Los Angeles Food From the Bar Steering Committee. She has introduced Food from the Bar to other cities and has spoken to many groups about the campaign.
