Justin Wayne Lutz

Justin Wayne Lutz is a litigation associate in the San Francisco office of Munger, Tolles & Olson.

Prior to rejoining the firm, Justin was a two-time summer associate at Munger Tolles, where he worked on an appeal arising from a tortious injury, an employment discrimination matter and a pro bono challenge to the constitutionality of a state policy. He also served as a summer associate at a global law firm.

Justin earned his J.D. from Yale Law, where he was a features editor of the Yale Law & Policy Review, a 3L class student representative and a research assistant to professors Judith Resnik and Emily Bazelon. He also served as president of First-Generation Professionals and was a semifinalist in the Thomas Swan Barristers’ Union mock trial competition.

Before law school, Justin served as program director and creative director at the David Mathews Center for Civic Life, where he researched public policy and moderated hundreds of public forums on critical issues facing communities across Alabama. He also worked in several other nonprofit organizations dedicated to voting rights, prison reform, and LGBTQ equality.

Justin received a master’s degree in communication studies from McGill University and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Sarah Lawrence College.
