Overview

Juliana Yee helps companies navigate their most challenging and high-profile matters through all stages of litigation.

She has extensive experience with investment management and portfolio litigation, having defended asset management clients in class action litigation, business tort litigation and proxy disputes.

She has also litigated high-stakes disputes for clients in the technology, gaming and entertainment industries – including class actions, mass actions and trials – in state and federal court.

In 2019, Juliana completed a three-month fellowship as a volunteer Assistant District Attorney for the San Francisco District Attorneys’ Office, first-chairing four criminal jury trials to a verdict.

In her free time, Juliana enjoys hiking and spending time with her family.

Experience

Asset Management Litigation

Warburg Pincus LLC and GTCR LLC in successfully obtaining early dismissals from multi-plaintiff toxic tort litigation.

Politan Capital Management LP in successfully defending against expedited securities litigation filed by Masimo Corporation alleging that Politan had made false or misleading statements and omissions in its proxy materials. Masimo’s motion for a preliminary injunction was denied and Politan’s nominees were elected to Masimo’s board.

Fortress Investment Group in successfully resolving a lawsuit filed by HM Ruby, a life settlement investment fund, that claimed $400 million in damages for Fortress’ alleged violations of a credit agreement. The matter was resolved for Fortress on favorable terms in January 2022, after a favorable verdict at trial.

Tech Platform Litigation

Google, in obtaining the denial of a preliminary injunction, affirmed on appeal and dismissal with prejudice, in action alleging Google violated RFK Jr.’s First Amendment rights by removing his YouTube videos containing misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine during his campaign for the presidency.

Lyft, Inc., and Instacart in multiple actions in trial court and on appeal regarding classification of app-based drivers and arbitrability of claims.

Airbnb, in obtaining dismissal under the Communications Decency Act of lawsuit brought by real estate investment trust company alleging that Airbnb interfered with its lease agreements and aided and abetted trespass.

Gaming and Entertainment Litigation

MGM Resorts International in two putative antitrust class actions alleging that the defendants improperly used pricing software.

Disney, Lucasfilm, Fox, Marvel, New Line, Turner Entertainment and another studio in winning a $62.4 million jury verdict in a copyright infringement and circumvention action against VidAngel.
