Overview

Alison Doyle is a litigation associate in the San Francisco office of Munger, Tolles & Olson who focuses her practice on complex civil litigation.

With an emphasis on the legal challenges faced by media, entertainment, gaming and higher-education clients, she has represented major motion picture studios and streaming services, gambling establishments, sports networks and universities in high-profile state and federal matters and arbitration proceedings throughout the United States. She also has significant experience representing organizations in sensitive internal investigations.

Prior to joining Munger Tolles, Alison was a litigator at one of the nation’s top law firms in New York. She also previously served as a legal intern in the California Office of the Attorney General.

Alison earned her law degree from University of Michigan Law School, where she served as articles editor of the Michigan Law Review, president of the Privacy and Technology Law Association and vice president for the Intellectual Property Student Association. Prior to law school, Alison worked in theater and sketch comedy.

Securing precedential U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision in favor of Starz Entertainment LLC in a copyright infringement and breach of contract action against MGM Domestic Television. The decision affirmed a district court’s holding that the Copyright Act did not impose a time-based bar on damages for copyright infringement claims separate from the three‑year statute of limitations.
