Munger, Tolles & Olson Elevates Two Lawyers to Partner
Munger, Tolles & Olson is pleased to announce the promotion of two lawyers to partner, effective January 1, 2024.
The new partners, Juliana Yee and Stephanie Herrera, are based in the firm’s San Francisco office. They handle complex and high-stakes matters ranging from class actions and copyright infringement cases to government investigations and civil rights matters. In addition, both new partners dedicate meaningful time to pro bono causes.

Juliana Yee focuses her practice on high-stakes disputes, including class actions, mass actions and trials in state and federal court and across a wide range of industries, including technology, entertainment, higher education and financial services. She helps companies navigate their most challenging and high-profile matters through all stages of litigation. Ms. Yee also maintains an active pro bono practice focused on immigration matters and civil rights. She is committed to advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and currently serves as the co-chair of the Development Committee of the Utah Center for Legal Inclusion.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Yee clerked for Judge Vince Chhabria of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and Judge Jay Bybee of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In 2019, she completed a three-month fellowship as a volunteer Assistant District Attorney for the San Francisco District Attorneys’ Office, first-chairing four criminal jury trials to a verdict.

Stephanie Herrera litigates complex disputes, focusing on novel issues raised by emerging technologies in the entertainment, media and technology industries. Ms. Herrera has particular experience litigating cutting-edge copyright, antitrust and civil rights issues for major movie studios and industry-leading technology companies. Her experience spans every phase of litigation, including significant summary judgment and trial victories. Ms. Herrera also has deep counseling and investigations experience in the tech industry, and has represented tech clients in litigation and investigations involving the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice, and state attorneys general. Ms. Herrera maintains an active pro bono practice, with an emphasis on immigration and civil rights. She is also passionate about the arts and serves on the board of directors of California Lawyers for the Arts.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Herrera clerked for Judge Michelle T. Friedland of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Judge Carol Bagley Amon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Before her clerkships, Ms. Herrera was a litigation associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, where her practice focused primarily on antitrust matters.
