Bethany Kristovich and Laura Smolowe Named to the 2024 Women of Influence: Attorneys List by The Los Angeles Business Journal
Munger, Tolles & Olson partners Bethany Kristovich and Laura Smolowe were recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal as 2024 Women of Influence. The annual list honors women attorneys for their exceptional legal skill and achievements, exemplary leadership as evidenced by the highest professional and ethical standards and contributions to the Los Angeles community.
Ms. Kristovich was recognized for her ability to drive to resolution bet-the-company cases in the crisis, professional responsibility, consumer protection, product defect and personal injury contexts. As the co-chair of MTO’s class action practice group and professional liability defense group, she is a go-to lawyer in times of crisis, and has represented PG&E, MGM and Oaktree Capital in their most significant and challenging matters. Ms. Kristovich’s reputation as an elite lawyer’s lawyer has been proven by her work defending notable law firms facing professional malpractice charges.
Ms. Smolowe was recognized for being a guide for the world’s most prominent companies, including Amgen, Facebook and Snap, through their thorniest legal matters with a creative, determined and steadfast hand—leading major trials and internal investigations and negotiating favorable resolutions in complex disputes. At MTO, Laura co-leads the Trade Secret and Employee Mobility Practice Group, co-chairs the Recruiting Committee, and is a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and trials, arbitrations and counseling clients in a wide variety of matters involving trade secrets, privacy, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and fraud.
