Munger, Tolles & Olson Partners Katherine Forster and Margaret Maraschino Named to 2023 Leaders of Influence List by The Los Angeles Business Journal

The Los Angeles Business Journal named Munger, Tolles & Olson partners Katherine Forster and Margaret Maraschino to its 2023 Leaders of Influence: Labor & Employment Attorneys list, which recognizes the very best employment and labor litigators and trial attorneys in the region.

The Los Angeles Business Journal highlighted Ms. Forster’s extensive experience as, “A seasoned employment practitioner, [who] has litigated scores of wage/hour class, collective and representative actions. She has particular experience in helping companies navigate highly sensitive claims for sexual harassment and abuse, gender discrimination, whistleblower retaliation and pay equity at the pre-filing stage…”

Ms. Forster was recognized for recent employment work, including defending See’s Candy Shops in a precedent-setting class action victory, and for her dedication to pro bono work and advancing LGBTQ+ rights. She was also recognized for her impressive work conducting independent investigations of alleged sexual misconduct by senior executives of multiple major companies and representing a global law firm in resolving pay equity and gender discrimination claims by two former partners on an individual basis, thereby avoiding a class/collective action filing.

Considered “a rising star in the California employment law world,” the Los Angeles Business Journal recognized Ms. Maraschino for regularly leading the defense of cases against leading national and California companies against wage-and-hour class and collective actions, discrimination claims and termination challenges. In addition to the litigation, trial and appeal of employment disputes, Ms. Maraschino provides strategic advice to major companies on a broad range of employment matters, including issues related to mergers and other corporate transitions.

The Los Angeles Business Journal recognized Ms. Maraschino for her recent work, including securing a complete victory for Morgan Stanley, which was the culmination of three weeks of arbitration and the defeat of a host of discrimination, contract and fraud claims by a former financial advisor. She also secured the dismissal of a nationwide collective action and state class action for Eclipse Senior Living.
