Top Labor and Employment Lawyer: Malcolm Heinicke

Munger, Tolles & Olson litigator and co-managing partner Malcolm A. Heinicke was recognized as a Top Labor and Employment Lawyer in California by the Daily Journal for the 11th consecutive time on July 10, 2019. 

Mr. Heinicke was recognized for obtaining a precedent-setting victory in a series of consolidated class actions against security services company Garda.

“It really can be a victory for the entire industry and validate the use of on duty-meal periods and validate use of the overtime exemptions in this industry,” said Mr. Heinicke.

In addition, the publication highlighted Mr. Heinicke’s 2019 election as the firm’s co-managing partner. “Many of the management and personnel lessons that I’ve learned over the years as an employment lawyer, I’ve been able to translate to these leadership positions,” said Mr. Heinicke, who also served as the president of the Bar Association of San Francisco in 2018 and now serves as chair of the San Francisco Metropolitan Transportation Agency.
