January 30, 2026
Munger, Tolles & Olson Associates Grace Davis Fisher and Laura Perry Stone will join panels at the American Bar Association’s 31st Forum on Communications Law, taking place on February 5-7 in Phoenix. The conference will cover key issues in communications, entertainment, technology and media law, with plenary sessions and specialized workshops on topics such as libel, privacy, anti-SLAPP, AI, social media, advertising and reporters’ privilege.
On February 6, Grace will speak on a panel titled, “Latest in Class Actions & Mass Arbitrations,” which will address the growing risks and costs of mass privacy actions fueled by everyday technologies. Participants will learn about major privacy claim vehicles, legislative updates and the strategic differences between class actions and mass arbitrations, including guidance for drafting terms and conditions. The session will also cover the impact of AI on privacy litigation and offers practical tips for in-house counsel, with experts leading a comprehensive Q&A on media, legal, ethical and human aspects of AI.
On that same day, Laura will participate in the “Anti-SLAPP” workshop, which will highlight recent anti-SLAPP legislative and litigation updates in the U.S. and abroad, including state, federal and international efforts. Topics will include the application of state statutes in federal courts, forum and choice of law issues, types of claims covered by anti-SLAPP laws, court interpretations of “public interest” publications and considerations for awarding attorney fees.
