Don Verrilli to Deliver Columbia University School of Law’s 2026 Commencement Speech

Don Verrilli, a partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson and a Columbia Law School alum, will deliver the keynote address at the school’s 2026 graduation ceremony on May 17.

Widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading Supreme Court advocates, Don served as the 46th U.S. Solicitor General from 2011 to 2016. During his tenure, he argued landmark cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, including successful defenses of the Affordable Care Act and advocacy in support of marriage equality. Since joining Munger, Tolles & Olson in 2016, Don has represented clients in significant appellate and Supreme Court matters spanning constitutional law, antitrust, copyright, voting rights, environmental law and the First Amendment.

Don maintains longstanding ties to Columbia Law School as a lecturer in law, where he teaches seminars on constitutional law, the Supreme Court and the presidency.
