Munger, Tolles & Olson Firm Chair Brad Brian participated in the panel “Passing the Torch: Strategic Succession Planning for Law Firms” at the 23rd Annual Aon Law Firm Symposium, held October 28-30 at The Boca Raton in Florida.
The panel examined how thoughtful succession planning can protect firm value, preserve client relationships and institutional knowledge, and mitigate professional responsibility and liability risks. Topics included governance tools, retirement and emeritus programs, incentives for senior lawyers to transition key relationships, and the personal and cultural dynamics of leadership transitions.
The symposium brought together law firms and their insurer partners to explore emerging risks, industry trends and practical approaches to risk management. Other sessions addressed law firm leadership, cybersecurity, engagement letters, conflicts of interest and pro bono representations.
