

Overview
Paul Martin is a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson whose practice focuses on education, appeals and advising large technology and entertainment companies.
Paul was part of the MTO team representing the 10 schools departing the Pac-12 Conference in litigation with the two remaining members and the Pac-12 related to athletic conference realignment, Pac-12 revenues and Pac-12 governance.
Paul maintains an active pro bono practice. He served on the MTO team that worked with a coalition of organizations to bring Fourth and Fifth Amendment claims challenging federal officials’ roving immigration patrols in the Los Angeles area in Summer 2025. He was also part of the MTO team that worked with Lambda Legal and Alturas Law Group, PLLC, to file a federal lawsuit against Idaho school officials on behalf of a transgender student alleging discrimination under a state bathroom ban.
Paul began his legal career as a summer associate at MTO and spent three years at the firm before departing for a clerkship on the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
At Yale Law School, he served as editor of the Yale Law Journal and executive editor of the Yale Journal of International Law. He received his B.A., magna cum laude, in Physics and Political Science from Brown University, where he was Phi Beta Kappa and a National Merit Scholar.
Paul has walked 500 miles on the historic Camino de Santiago in Spain. He occasionally publishes short stories and translations.
