Munger, Tolles & Olson Recognized for Efforts to Fight Slum Housing

Munger, Tolles & Olson was presented with the 2018 Katharine Krause Award by the Inner City Law Center (ICLC) on June 19, 2018.

The award is presented to an individual or entity that has made notable contributions to the ICLC’s client communities. The organization recognized the firm for “its demonstrated professionalism, willingness to take on complex and difficult matters and an abiding commitment to achieving justice for our clients.”

In particular, the ICLC highlighted Munger, Tolles & Olson’s success in obtaining a favorable settlement on behalf of 80 renters living in horrendous slum conditions.

The ICLC combats slum housing while developing strategies to end homelessness. The firm has partnered with the ICLC, the only legal services provider on Skid Row, since it opened in 1980 and has served as co-counsel on many housing-related matters, including a recent landmark appellate win in a case affecting California renters.

Munger, Tolles & Olson attorney Jacob S. Kreilkamp accepted the award on behalf of the firm. Litigator Christa L. Culver serves on the ICLC board of directors.
