Laura Smolowe Featured as a Panelist on IP Litigation and Legal Issues in the AI Field at Practising Law Institute Program

Munger, Tolles & Olson partner Laura Smolowe was a featured panelist at Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) recent program, titled “The Convergence of Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property in California and Beyond 2024,” which was held virtually and in-person in San Francisco, California on November 14.

Ideal for attorneys who counsel on issues pertaining to artificial intelligence (AI) and intellectual property (IP), this program explored major issues at the intersection of AI and IP and how these issues can directly impact clients and their businesses.

Ms. Smolowe’s panel, titled “Patents, Copyrights, and Trade Secrets: Oh My! Surveying the Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property Landscape in California and Beyond,” dove into IP litigation and legal issues within the AI field in the California market, including inventorship disputes, battles over fair use of copyrighted data, patent eligibility issues and other relevant matters across the AI litigation and regulatory landscape.
