Munger, Tolles & Olson represented Nexus Capital Management in the merger of its portfolio company, Natural Balance Pet Foods, with Canidae Pet Foods.
As part of the merger agreement signed on March 21, 2023, Nexus and the owner of Canidae, L Catterton, agreed to put the companies together and to contribute new growth capital to support the expansion of the combined company.
The MTO team was led by Brett Rodda and Jennifer Broder, and included Judith Kitano, Kyle Mach, Matthew Schonholz, Natalie Karl, Samir Halawi, Gregory Bischoping, Jared Koch, Kimberly Chi and Michael Greaney.
The transaction is the second deal MTO has led on behalf of Nexus over the last year. In July 2022, the firm advised the private equity firm in its strategic investment in Lamps Plus.
