Corporate Partner Nikole Zoumberakis Joins Munger, Tolles & Olson
Munger, Tolles & Olson is pleased to announce that Nikole K. Zoumberakis has joined the firm as a corporate partner in our Los Angeles office.
Ms. Zoumberakis has spent nearly two decades practicing corporate law and advising clients facing a broad range of transactional, legal and compliance issues, including structuring private investment funds, portfolio investments, co-investment structures, and internal ownership and governance of investment management firms. Her addition to MTO will bolster the firm’s already top-ranked corporate group and help expand its investment fund and asset manager representation practice.
“We are very excited to welcome Nikole to MTO,” corporate partner David Lee said. “She brings incredible talent and extensive experience in investment management and fund formation and also has broad experience in other transactional areas, including M&A and finance. She is a perfect fit for our firm.”
Ms. Zoumberakis represents investment advisors servicing institutional clients and high net worth individuals. She also advises pension plans and other institutional investors with their investments in hedge funds, private equity, venture capital and real estate funds. She has served as outside general counsel and adviser to businesses ranging from start-up and emerging private companies to seasoned enterprises, advising on issues relating to formation, governance, financing, commercial agreements, federal and state securities laws and other regulatory and complex commercial matters.
Ms. Zoumberakis has been involved in transactions across a wide range of industries, including financial services, health care, consumer goods, technology, energy and utilities. She has brokered several significant business deals and provided vital counsel to clients in various high-profile legal matters.
“I am thrilled to join MTO’s prestigious corporate practice and to collaborate with colleagues across the firm to support our clients,” Ms. Zoumberakis said. “I look forward to expanding my practice within the firm’s highly sophisticated platform and contributing to the team’s continued growth.”
Ms. Zoumberakis joins MTO after spending more than a decade at Buchalter. She previously worked at Dewey Ballantine LLP and as a judicial extern for the Honorable Kim Wardlaw of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
“Nikole is a superstar in her field and will provide our clients with invaluable, industry-specific knowledge that few possess,” said Co-Managing Partner Hailyn Chen. “I have no doubt she will thrive at MTO and help continue the firm’s long tradition of providing excellent corporate services and counsel to our clients for years to come.”
