Yale Law Women has named Munger, Tolles & Olson as a top firm for Hiring Practices and for Diverse Partnership in their 2020 Top Firms for Gender Equity & Family Friendliness Report on May 20, 2020.
This marks the 15th year for the report, which is designed “to raise awareness of inequities within the legal profession, highlight progress being made in the industry, and identify areas for improvement.” This year, Yale Law Women (YLW) took a new approach, recognizing the individualized experiences and distinct needs of law firm employees and the multitude of factors leading to workplace equity. Only three firms were recognized for their Diverse Partnership and six firms for their Hiring Practices.
To create the report, YLW invited firms to participate in a rigorous survey that captured not only the policies offered but their actual use by attorneys at each firm. Using this data, they developed honors based on metrics that indicate a commitment to equity.
Munger Tolles last received top honors in 2017 and is very proud to be one of the few firms recognized in multiple categories on this year’s list. It would not be possible without the shared commitment to diversity and inclusion that our leadership team, committees, attorneys and professionals demonstrate across the firm day in and day out.
