Munger, Tolles & Olson Named Media & Entertainment Group of the Year by Law360

Munger, Tolles & Olson was selected as a Law360 Media & Entertainment Practice Group of the Year for the fourth consecutive year on Nov. 29, 2020.

The list highlights litigation victories and major deals that resonated throughout the legal industry in the past year. The firm was one of four selected by the publication out of hundreds of nominees.

Munger, Tolles & Olson was recognized for its success on behalf of Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) including Disney, Paramount, Sony Pictures, Universal and Warner Bros. in securing a $50 million damages award and a permanent injunction shutting down Omniverse, a long-time distributor of unauthorized streams of copyrighted movie and television content.

The firm also represented Creative Arts Agency (CAA) in settling a high profile dispute with the Writers Guild of America (WGA) concerning the future terms on which agents may not only represent writers, but also how they may package films or own stakes in production entities.
