Mississippi Center for Justice Honors Donald Verrilli

The Mississippi Center for Justice announced it will recognize Donald Verrilli as this year’s honoree at their annual reception on June 19, 2020.

The Mississippi Center for Justice (MCJ) is a nonprofit that provides legal services to the indigent in Mississippi. The theme of this year’s reception is “Fighting for Justice.” With landmark Supreme Court victories as U.S. Solicitor General including securing affordable health care and marriage equality, it’s no surprise that Mr. Verrilli will be recognized as a true advocate for justice.

Mr. Verrilli’s notable victories include his successful advocacy in defense of the Affordable Care Act in National Federation of Independent Businesses v. Sebelius and King v. Burwell; his successful advocacy for marriage equality in Obergefell v. Hodges and United States v. Windsor; and his vindication of federal immigration authority in Arizona v. United States. He also achieved important victories in numerous cases involving civil rights, women’s rights and other matters of national importance.

Donald Verrilli is a partner with Munger, Tolles & Olson. His practice focuses on representing and counseling clients on multi-dimensional problems, where litigation, regulation and public policy intersect to shape markets and industries in our evolving economy.
