Kelly Klaus Once Again Named Power Lawyer

On March 26, 2020, The Hollywood Reporter once again named Munger, Tolles & Olson litigation partner Kelly Klaus as one of its Power Lawyers.

Kelly Klaus is a go-to lawyer for major motion picture studios seeking to protect their most valuable assets — their content. Mr. Klaus has established himself as a leader for copyright issues in the new digital media space. He is frequently called upon by media and popular entertainment companies to handle their most significant and cutting-edge copyright and intellectual property matters.

In particular, The Hollywood Reporter noted Mr. Klaus’s representation of the plaintiffs in a copyright lawsuit against VidAngel. In June 2019, a jury in federal court ordered VidAngel to pay more than $62 million in damages for violating the plaintiffs’ rights. Mr. Klaus also continues his work on the forefront of First Amendment cases in Hollywood.

Mr. Klaus focuses his practice on copyright and related litigation, including antitrust and class action litigation. In addition to litigating, he regularly counsels clients on copyright, software licensing and other intellectual property issues.
