Jennifer Broder and Misty Sanford Named Top Women Attorneys

The Los Angeles Business Journal has named Jennifer Broder and Misty Sanford as Top Women Attorneys on April 24, 2020. The award acknowledges stellar attorneys who serve as the region’s outstanding trusted advisers while maintaining a robust practice. The winners are seen as trailblazers of their craft and communities.

Ms. Broder maintains a robust corporate law practice with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance advice. Over the last year, she represented the special committee of the board of directors of Pope Resources in the company’s definitive agreement to be acquired by Rayonier Inc. for a mix of cash and equity and Oaktree Capital Group in the sale of 62 percent of its business to Brookfield Asset Management for $4.8 billion. In addition to maintaining a thriving corporate law practice, Ms. Broder is actively involved in the Los Angeles community and the legal community nationwide.

Over the last year, Misty Sanford has left her fingerprints on some of the most notable developments in California. One project of note is her work advising the property developer Tishman Speyer on the $2 billion Mission Rock development located across from Oracle Park, the San Francisco Giants’ stadium. Throughout her 14-year career at Munger Tolles, Ms. Sanford has been involved in pro bono matters and community affairs. She is the founder and co-chair of the MTO Fellows Program, which prepares diverse students for law school.
