Munger, Tolles & Olson Increases Paid Leave for Professional Staff

Munger, Tolles & Olson announced that all managers and employees will be eligible for up to 18 weeks of paid leave effective Sept. 1, 2019. This policy is consistent with the recently increased benefits offered to the firm’s attorneys.

The revised policy significantly extends the available paid leave for medical and family care, as well as parental leaves. Parents giving birth are eligible for an additional six to eight weeks of paid disability leave.

“We pride ourselves on offering comprehensive benefits to our employees, and this increased paid leave is another great example of that commitment,” says Munger, Tolles & Olson Co-Managing Partner Hailyn J. Chen. “This policy change will allow our colleagues better flexibility to take care of important medical and family needs.”

Munger, Tolles & Olson is broadly recognized for its family-friendly policies. Its Los Angeles office has an on-site, subsidized child-care center, which the Los Angeles Downtown News has consistently recognized as the “Best Downtown Daycare.” When it opened in 2010, it was the first child-care center on the West Coast sponsored by a law firm.

The firm also provides subsidized back-up care for up to 20 days per year, per child.
