Top 100: Ron Olson, Brad Brian

Munger, Tolles & Olson attorneys Ronald L. Olson and Brad D. Brian were named among the Daily Journal’s Top 100 Lawyers in California in a report published Sept. 18, 2019. 

In the profile, Mr. Olson, name partner of Munger, Tolles & Olson, reflected on the firm’s commitment to excellence and the importance of protecting its distinct culture. Mr. Olson was recognized for his representation of such high-profile clients as Intel, the founders of Alphabet and Berkshire Hathaway. The publication also highlighted Mr. Olson’s representation of the Sir Ratan Tata Trust and its founder Ratan Tata in legal and corporate governance matters.

In its profile of Mr. Brian, the Daily Journal showcased his leadership of the most significant cases for clients like MGM Resorts, PG&E, Airbnb, Bechtel, Costco and Fortress, as well as for major law firms around the country. As just two examples, Mr. Brian is representing MGM Resorts in all litigation arising out of the Oct. 1, 2017 mass shooting at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, as well as PG&E in connection with the investigation by the California Attorney General and the Butte County District Attorney of the 2018 Camp Fire that destroyed the town of Paradise, California. The newspaper also highlighted Mr. Brian’s new role as firm chair and featured some of his views on providing opportunities to more junior lawyers and maintaining the firm’s democratic culture.
