Minority Corporate Counsel Association Rising Star: Martin Estrada

Noted for being among the attorneys “leading the charge for change in their communities and the legal profession,” Munger, Tolles & Olson’s E. Martin Estrada has been named a 2018 Rising Star by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA). The list – published Aug. 7, 2018 – features only 10 lawyers nationwide.

Mr. Estrada, a former federal prosecutor and supervisor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, is an experienced litigator who has tried over two dozen federal and state trials and arbitrations, argued a dozen appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals, and handled numerous legal and evidentiary hearings in federal and state courts. Among his numerous accomplishments, Mr. Estrada recently led the firm’s team, which partnered with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) and New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty, in achieving a landmark educational rights trial victory in New Mexico. Also in 2018, Mr. Estrada also worked with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles in the pro bono representation of a 17-year-old girl seeking a restraining order against an abusive ex-boyfriend.

Rising Stars will be honored at the MCCA’s “Creating Pathways to Diversity Conference” in New York in October.

Mr. Estrada focuses his practice on trials, arbitrations, complex litigation and internal investigations. In addition to his high-impact pro bono work, he represents major corporations and executives before both federal and state courts in a variety of areas, including business disputes, technology, antitrust, environmental regulation, securities, banking, and competition law.
