Mark Yohalem Named to Daily Journal’s Top 40 Under 40

Munger, Tolles & Olson attorney Mark R. Yohalem was named one of the Daily Journal’s top 40 lawyers in California under 40 in a report published on June 20, 2018.

Among other matters, Mr. Yohalem was recognized for his work in a closely-watched tax case before the U.S. Supreme Court, in which he helped persuade the court to overturn a 50-year-old limitation on the taxation of out-of-state retailers, and his success in persuading the California Court of Appeal to overturn an injunction that had deprived his client of control over the television production company responsible for the show “Duck Dynasty.” The article also highlighted his hobby as a television, video game and fiction writer and his previous experience as a federal prosecutor and U.S. Supreme Court clerk as contributing factors to his success.

Mr. Yohalem focuses his practice on complex litigation and appellate law. He served formerly as the Deputy Chief of Appeals at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, where he argued more than 30 appeals, twice before en banc panels, and handled multiple felony jury trials.
