The list recognizes 100 attorneys who “help rising stars capitalize on their success, guide industry-shaping mergers and deal with high-profile disputes.”
Mr. Klaus was selected for his representation of FX Networks in its appellate victory in a defamation suit brought by actress Olivia de Havilland regarding her depiction in the docudrama “Feud,” as well as representing the major studios in a variety of matters, including Disney in its copyright infringement lawsuit against Redbox for selling digital movie codes.
Ms. Godley was recognized for her work on behalf of Warner Bros. in an internal investigation related to alleged reports of misconduct on the set of “Bachelor in Paradise” and her successful defense of Time Warner and its subsidiaries in an idea theft lawsuit involving the daytime talk show “The Real.” She was also acknowledged for her investigation work relating to the #metoo and #timesup movements.
Mr. Klaus focuses his practice on copyright and related litigation, including antitrust and class action litigation. He represents major motion picture studios and recorded music companies in some of their highest-profile litigation. In addition to litigating, Mr. Klaus regularly counsels clients on copyright, software licensing and other intellectual property issues.
Ms. Godley excels at handling complex business litigation disputes and specializes in entertainment litigation and advising. She serves as counsel to the major studios, networks, recording companies and music publishers, along with many other entertainment-related entities.
