Munger, Tolles & Olson attorneys Ronald L. Olson, Brad D. Brian and Mary Ann Todd were recognized among the Top 100 Lawyers in California by the Daily Journal, in a report published Sept. 20, 2017.
The Daily Journal highlighted Mr. Olson’s representation of the Chargers National Football League franchise in its move from San Diego to Los Angeles, as well as his work with such other NFL teams as the Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins. The publication also reported on Mr. Olson’s contribution to the work of attorneys Mark H. Kim and Samuel T. Greenberg for the creation and operation of the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative, a philanthropically oriented LLC.
Mr. Brian was recognized for his successful representation of Fortress Investment Group in a $200 million trial brought by life settlement hedge fund HM Ruby. The Daily Journal also highlighted Mr. Brian’s representation of Occidental Chemical in a trial in Louisiana, and his role as co-chair of the $15 million capital campaign to build the new headquarters of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, named the Ron Olson Justice Center.
Ms. Todd was selected for her representation of Berkshire Hathaway and its subsidiary Columbia Insurance in an equity investment with Canadian lender Home Capital Group Inc. and related credit facility. The publication also highlighted Ms. Todd’s representation of BDT Capital Partners LLC in its investment in the $7.5 billion acquisition of Panera Bread, together with JAB Holding Co.
