Munger, Tolles & Olson is sponsoring the annual Charles Siegal Lecture at Loyola Law School on Jan. 26, 2017.
The speech will be delivered by Anthony Coelho, a former U.S. Representative from California and the primary sponsor of the Americans with Disabilities Act. A longtime advocate for the rights of people with disabilities, Mr. Coelho was appointed by President Bill Clinton to serve on the President’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities. He has held leadership positions at the American Association for People with Disabilities, the Epilepsy Foundation and the Partnership to Improve Patient Care.
Founded in 2015, the lecture series honors longtime Munger Tolles partner Charles (Chuck) Siegal and his legacy in the area of disability law and policy. Mr. Siegal, who passed away in 2012, was a passionate advocate on issues related to disability rights and international law. A prolific speaker and author, Mr. Siegal co-authored the seminal casebook in disability law, Disability Civil Rights Law, and a treatise of the same name. He was also a contributing author to the Encyclopedia of Disability.
The 2017 Charles Siegal Presentation and Reception will be held Loyola Law School, Los Angeles from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
