Munger, Tolles & Olson attorney Hailyn J. Chen was appointed on Aug. 17, 2017 by the California Supreme Court to the State Bar of California’s governing body, the Board of Trustees. Ms. Chen will begin her three-year term on Sept. 7, 2017.
The Board of Trustees develops the guiding policies underpinning the State Bar’s mission to protect the public, including through attorney licensing, regulation, and discipline, the advancement of the ethical and competent practice of law, and promoting greater access to justice. The State Bar’s Board of Trustees appoints the members of numerous state Bar Committees and Commissions, including the Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE) Commission, the Committee of Bar Examiners, and the Commission on Access to Justice.
Ms. Chen’s practice focuses on complex business litigation, white collar criminal defense and government investigations. She frequently represents higher education institutions in a range of litigation matters and investigations. She co-chairs the American Bar Association Section of Litigation’s Woman Advocate Committee and is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
