Marking the one-year anniversary of Munger, Tolles & Olson’s Washington, D.C. office, Bloomberg Law profiled the firm’s rapid growth into a significant player in the D.C. market in an article published on Oct. 25, 2017.
Describing Munger, Tolles & Olson’s east coast location as a “D.C. powerhouse,” Bloomberg Law noted that the office has tripled in headcount in one year’s time and that, by year-end, the office will include seven women attorneys and five men.
The article highlighted the firm’s increased profile for appellate cases, particularly in the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as its focus on corporate investigations and regulatory matters.
Bloomberg Law also described the firm’s measured approach to adding attorneys in D.C. “We could go to 40 or 50 lawyers in a heartbeat here, just based on the quality of resumes we’re getting, but we’ve been able to be very selective, and build out slowly and carefully,” said Munger, Tolles & Olson attorney Donald B. Verrilli, Jr., in the article.
Munger, Tolles & Olson Co-Managing Partner Brad D. Brian told Bloomberg Law that attorneys at the firm view themselves “as elite problem solvers” and the D.C. office enhances the firm’s ability to address its clients’ most complex legal issues.
