Munger, Tolles & Olson is proud to announce that it has once again been named to Yale Law Women’s Top Ten Family Friendly Firm list. The 2015 list recognizes law firms that are demonstrated leaders in developing and implementing family friendly policies and practices.
“Receiving this recognition two years in a row underscores our longstanding commitment as a firm to the importance of family in all of our lives,” said Munger Tolles Women’s Initiative Committee Co-Chair Tamerlin J. Godley.
In addition to being selected among the top 10 firms, Munger Tolles was recognized for demonstrating superior performance in the following Gender Equity categories:
- At Least 50 Percent of Attorneys Promoted to Partner in 2014 Were Women
- Executive or Management Committee Comprised of at Least 40 Percent Women
Munger Tolles is recognized as a longtime leader in hiring, promotion and retention of women. In the past five years, more than half of the attorneys promoted to partner have been women, many of them mothers of young children. In December 2014, The American Lawyer noted that Munger Tolles was one of only 20 Am Law 200 firms to have had new partner classes comprised of at least 30 percent women for the last three years.
“From our child care benefits and flexible schedule management to our family-focused affinity groups and resources, to the inclusion of families at firm retreats and celebrations, our firm recognizes and supports our attorneys’ efforts to balance their professional goals with family time,” added fellow co-chair Heather E. Takahashi.
One of the firm’s most important family-oriented initiatives was the creation, in conjunction with two business partners, of the first law-firm sponsored child care center on the West Coast in 2010. Each year since its inception, Hope Street Friends has been recognized as “Best Downtown Daycare” by the Los Angeles Downtown News.
