Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP attorney Laura D. Smolowe was elected to the board of trustees of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. Formed in 1963 at the request of President John F. Kennedy to involve the private bar in providing legal services to address racial discrimination, the Lawyers’ Committee aims to secure equal justice under the law for all. Ms. Smolowe now serves on the board alongside a number of leaders in the private legal industry.
Ms. Smolowe is a litigation partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation in federal and state court. Ms. Smolowe also maintains an active pro bono docket, where she focuses on civil rights cases.
