Munger, Tolles & Olson attorneys Jeffrey L. Bleich and Grant A. Davis-Denny presented a review of cross-border data privacy in Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific Region at a meeting of the Electronic Cloud Privacy Group on May 14, 2015. Mr. Bleich and Mr. Davis-Denny discussed how data privacy regulations in Southeast Asia affect “software as a service” (SaaS) and cloud computing companies. They also discussed the features of the APEC Cross Border Privacy Rules system and its prospects for the future.
Based in San Francisco, Mr. Bleich focuses his practice on international disputes and counseling, as well as high-stakes domestic litigation, with special emphasis on privacy and data security, internal investigations, trade and cross-border disputes and the Asia-Pacific region. He returned to the firm in December 2013 following four years of service as U.S. Ambassador to Australia and as Special Counsel to President Obama during the first year of the Administration.
Based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, Mr. Davis-Denny‘s practice emphasizes counseling companies on data security and privacy law compliance issues and representing clients in data breach class action litigation.
